The Office of Research on Women’s Health’s (ORWH) Understudied, Underrepresented, and Underreported (U3) administrative supplement program funds interdisciplinary research to address the influences of sex and gender on health at the intersection of social determinants. The program focuses on critical research gaps and opportunities in populations of women that are understudied, underrepresented, and underreported in biomedical research.
As part of the program, ORWH hosts events that are designed to stimulate interest in the complex issues affecting the health of women (e.g., influences of community attributes on health). The initial session of the 2020 ORWH U3 Program's Women’s Health Lecture Series will be held on Wednesday, July 22, at 2:00 p.m. and will focus on improving chronic disease outcomes through approaches that address social determinants of health. This virtual event will feature presentations by two panelists, Drs. Marie Lynn Miranda and Leah Rubin, followed by a moderated Q&A session. The event will be 1 hour long.
